Insight Film Studios

A 40-minute drive from Insight’s administrative offices, the company operates its 40,000 square foot film, HD and television production studio. Through this facility.Insight has recreated the streets and palaces of 17th century Paris, a 747 crashing into the ocean and Santa’s Christmas day workshop.

Located in Maple Ridge BC, Insight’s soundstage operates year round and includes two dozen production offices. Also based out of the Soundstage, Insight retains extensive resources in production equipment including lighting, camera, sound, as well as, a fleet of production vehicles.

Infrastructure

It’s part of Insight’s philosophy to never rent someone else’s equipment or expertise. Whenever practicable, Insight productions employ crew and the company’s several million dollars of support equipment, a fleet of vehicles, cameras, lights, mobile dressing rooms etc plus Insight’s two soundstages. These unique in-house resources provide significant cost savings to both co-pro partners and those seeking Insight's production services.

Insight operates 16 server based High Definition Final Cut Pro suites providing the ultimate in collaborative editing environments, Through our massive Xsan storage cluster, we are able work each project in either a traditional offline to online path or stay completely HD and work the entire creative path in one “online” resolution. Our Finishing department (Online) has two Apple Color stations and 4 stand alone I/O stations that are fully integrated into the process. For Avid users and projects, we have 2 Media Composer suites and 2 DS Finishing suites. Each suite has full connectivity via HDSDI, SDI, RS-422 and Sync as well as fiber and dedicated Cat6 network to our state of the art tape operations room.

Insight Post can handle all SD and HD (4:2:2) formats as well as PAL standards. Our non linear editing systems are also capable of handling true 24f film projects. Please see attached rate card for more information.

Editorial Staff

Insight Film Studios manages a full time team of Final Cut HD and Avid savvy editors and assistant editors experienced in both 35mm and HD workflows. They have experience in long form Theatrical, MOW, short form dramatic and documentary series.

Visual Effects

Insight Post Studios provides a complete film and television visual effects service along with print and website design. With talented artists and state of the art tools Insight film Studios can take your effects from the concept stage to final completion.

Insight's visual effects department uses state of the art software like Maya and Lightwave to create 3D animation and effects, be it a shiny metal logo to full on photo realistic CGI environments and animations. 3D animation is not all we do, still images are created in Photoshop, an advanced graphics program capable of outputting film resolution imagery created from scratch or by manipulating scanned images. 2D animation and compositing is handled by Adobe After Effects which allows still images, and digital video and 3D animations to be combined and manipulated.
