Newly Appointed President of Insight Film Releasing Announced

Vancouver, B.C. — Insight Film Studios is pleased to announce the addition of Tim Brown to the organization.  With over fourteen years in the film industry, Tim brings knowledge, experience, and skill as the new President of Insight Film Releasing.

Tim began releasing feature films for Malofilm Distribution in 1993 and has not looked back since.  After three years at Malofilm, he moved on to become the National Sales Manager for TVA (formally Astrall Distribution).  There Tim spent five years growing the Astral video business in Canada before moving to Vancouver to join Keystone Distribution as VP of Worldwide Sales.  Tim spent six years working at International Distribution for Keystone before joining Insight in 2007.

In the foreign distribution market it is important for companies to become more independent for their own success.   “Operating our own distribution company is an important move for Insight” says Kirk Shaw, Chief Executive Officer about Tim’s new position.  “In the face of the rising currency, revenue from foreign markets will help keep the company viable.  This is also one more step towards creating a true Studio where everything from development to distribution is done in house.”

Says Tim of his move to Insight “I am thrilled to be part of such a dynamic organization and excited about the possibilities that lie ahead.”

Multifaceted, Tim got behind the camera in 2006 to direct his first feature film “The Cradle” starring Lukas Haas. Tim also sits on the advisory board of WIFVV and the Vancouver Film Festival Trade Forum.
