Vancouver, B.C. — Insight Film Studios, Five Star Entertainment and Proud Mary Entertainment are pleased to announce that cameras will soon be rolling on a feature film titled Tortured. The film stars Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, Mystic River) and Cole Hauser (Paparazzi, The Break-Up), who’ll be surrounded by a stellar list of actors including James Denton (Desperate Housewives), Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) and Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage).

This will be the third feature film for the Chicago-born Lebovitz Brothers, who together helm Five Star Entertainment. Nolan Lebovitz wrote and will direct the feature while Adam Lebovitz will serve as producer.

The independent picture is also produced by Kirk Shaw of Insight Film Studios and Mary Aloe of Proud Mary Entertainment. Paradigm packaged the project and will be repping the North American rights. Nicolas Chartier of Voltage Pictures is helming foreign sales.

This psychological crime thriller follows the frenetic journey of undercover FBI agent Kevin Cole (Hauser) as he infiltrates the world’s most powerful crime syndicate. When he unexpectedly cracks the inner circle of mob boss Ziggy (Fishburne) — and is assigned the task of torturing an unfortunate accountant, also played by Fishburne — the lines begin to blur between the world of the FBI and the world of crime.

Principal photography for Tortured starts on May 14, and will be filmed on location in Vancouver. The film is slated to have a domestic and international theatrical release next year.
